Cetuem Myo-Gel Ice Pack Pot
With any sprain, strain or bruise there is some bleeding into the underlying tissues. This may cause swelling, pain and delay healing. Cetuem Myo-Gel Ice Pack treatment may be used in both the immediate treatment of soft tissue injuries and in later rehabilitation. The aim is to limit the body’s response to tissue injury. Hence Cetuem Myo-Gel Ice Pack will:

  • Reduce bleeding into tissues
  • Prevent or reduce swelling
  • Reduce muscle spasm & pain
  • Reduces pain by numbing the area
  • Limits the effects of swelling

These effects all help to prevent the area from becoming stiff by reducing excess
tissue fluid that gathers as a result of injury and inflammation.

Can be used as a coupling gel with all leading ultra sound machines.

We have now perfected the blend to work well as an ultrasound coupling gel, so it is slightly less viscous easy to apply and doesn’t have to be removed following ultrasound therapy, to maximize the cooling effect of the gel on the tissues.

Instructions for use:

Active Ingredients: Aloe vera, Spearmint Oil, Menthol, Camphor

Directions: Apply gently to affected  areas. Do not apply to cut or broken skin.

Precautions: Keep all medicines out of the reach of children. Side effects are rare. If you notice anything unusual or symptoms persist, consult your practitioner. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding always consult a doctor before using this product. Do not use if sensitive to any ingredients. This product may occasionally cause a rash, if this happens stop using it.

Cetuem Myo Fascia oil

Fascia Oil
Coconut Oil

Cetuem Myo Fascia oil
Ideal for all musculoskeletal strains and sprains, this deep tissue massage oil has been blended using pure coconut oil and grapeseed with a blend of pure essential oils of lemongrass, blackpepper, ginger, clove and camphor enriched with pure vitamin e and especially blended to an ancient Indonesian remedy for the treatment of minor aces and pains associated with bachache, joint and muscle pain.
Keep in a warm place, may solidify.

Healing Wounds: Coconut has been used for wound healing since time immemorial.  Three of the identified mechanisms behind these healing effects are its ability to accelerate re-epithelialization, improve antioxidant enzyme activity, and stimulate higher collagen cross-linking within the tissue being repaired. Coconut oil has even been shown to work synergistically with traditional treatments, such as silver sulphadizine, to speed burn wound recovery.

NSAID Alternative: Coconut oil has been demonstrated to have anti-inflammatory, analgesic and fever-reducing properties.

Anti-Fungal: In 2004, 52 isolates of Candida species were exposed to coconut oil. The most notorious form, Candida albicans, was found to have the highest susceptibility. Researchers remarked: “Coconut oil should be used in the treatment of fungal infections in view of emerging drug-resistant Candida species.”

Bone Health: Coconut oil has been shown to reduce oxidative stress within the bone, which may prevent structural damage in osteoporotic bone.

clary-sage

Cetuem Myo Detox Oil
Cetuem Myo-Detox Oil is a blend of almond, juniper & rosemary oils with the emphasis on clary sage as the active ingredient. This is a blended medicinal oil, used for many years by the local people of Southern Italy and Greece to treat muscle and joint pain, digestive disorders, kidney diseases and the cooling of inflammation of the skin.

Clary sage is calming to the nervous system, particularly in cases of depression, stress, insomnia and deep seated tension. It furthermore is a good tonic for the womb and female functions in general, such as painful periods, scanty menstruation and relaxation during labour, thus encouraging a less painful birth (Davis 1993).

During menopause, clary sage oil can help reduce hot flushes, night sweats, palpitations, irritability, as well as headaches and dizziness.

Cetuem Myo-Detox Oil, with clary sage has been especially blended to be beneficial for easing, back pain and a stiff neck, as well as for body odours, PMS, skin problems and cramps. It is particularly good for balancing the production of sebum of the skin and to clear greasy complexions.

What is Ultrasound?

It is a mechanical electrotherapy supplying energy to tissues for healing. The mechanical vibrations are sound energy, the normal range being 16Hz to up to 20,000Hz, beyond this is electrotherapy. The frequencies used in electrotherapy are between 1.0 and 3.0MHz, 1Mhz = 1 million cycles/vibrations per second.

The sound waves generate a combination of high and low pressure zones. It is these vibrations in the tissues that produce heat and therefore produces a thermal change in the tissues. These can also be non-thermal. Effectively Ultrasound is ‘instigating a change in cell behaviour’(International Therapist, issue 110, Autumn 2014, Tim Watson) or a change to how the cell reacts, known as cell ‘up regulation’, which is an increase to the amount of work the cell does.

The primary most evidenced based application to Ultrasound is the stimulation and promotion of tissue repair. During tissue repair, the sequence of phases from inflammation to proliferation to remodelling. At each phase, Ultrasound has a different role to promote repair of the tissue (where the cell has absorbed the US) and therefore has been shown to be effective in treating the following:

Muscle strains, Ligament damage, Tendonitis and tendinopathy, Scar tissue, Trauma presented in a joint capsule and at the musculotendinous junction/ Retinacular tissues.

Professor Tim Watson of the University of Herts,  concludes, “The effects of ultrasound are well established and evidenced. What the evidence clearly says is that the effects that ultrasound is capable of achieving are dependent on the dose (machine settings) applied. There is not a ‘one size fits all’ dose – it needs to be worked out for individual cases”.
